October Online Concert - in aid of the Alzheimer's Society

Welcome to our Autumn concert performed within COVID-19 regulations. It's our orchestra's first performance online! Our string section will be performing live from our concert venue whilst our wind players perform via recorded performances. We welcome our audience to join us for an evening of good music to raise some funds for the chosen charity - the Alzheimer’s Society - the Corporate charity of the Heart of England Co-operative Society.

The video for the concert is courtesy of the School of Media and Performing Arts at Coventry University. This is part of a larger collaborative project we are developing to make links between a community and an education group. They are designing a new immersive experience using 360 video technology which will allow the broadcast for users to experience the performance like if they were in the hall - the audience will also be able to watch and move around the room, allowing for a new immersive experience. Viewers on YouTube will be able to independently rotate or move the camera around to the part of the orchestra and take part of a new audiovisual experience - sound using a new microphone technology and video will be linked allowing for the audience to interact with the orchestra like never before.
